Shareholders are encouraged to apply for Advisory Member open seats on the Land Committee and Elders Committee.
Becoming an Advisory Member is a great way to get involved in the Corporation. Advisory Members serve a two-year term and play a critical role in providing advice and support to the committees.
Elder Committee Advisory Members work with Board members to select Elder of the Year, help with the Elders calendar, other cultural materials, and more. Note that you do not have to be an Elder to be an Advisory Member.
Land Committee Advisory Members work with Board members on planning uses of Sitnasuak land, and balance the traditional, subsistence, social and economic development uses of Corporation lands.
Our Shareholders offer a wide base of talent and knowledge. We appreciate the engagement and unique perspectives our Shareholders provide when we sit at these tables to hold important discussions. Sitnasuak knows your time and wisdom are valuable and we offer all committee and advisory members a stipend as a thank you for their service.
For any questions regarding the Advisory Member positions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Anchorage office at (907) 929-7000. A letter of interest must be submitted by September 30, 2026. The form can be found on our website here >>https://www.snc.org/?p=5120, picked up at either of our offices, or sent to Shareholders upon request. Please send your letter of interest to hspear-morris@snc.org.
