Investing in Our People and Communities
At Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC), we believe that the success of our corporation is deeply connected to the health and wellbeing of the communities where we live and work. Through charitable giving, we support nonprofit organizations and initiatives that benefit our shareholders, descendants, and Alaska Native culture.
We prioritize programs that strengthen our people and honor the Iñupiaq values that guide us—such as cooperation, sharing, respect for Elders, and love for our children.
Our Giving Philosophy
SNC is committed to making strategic social investments that reflect our Alaska Native culture and corporate values. Our giving efforts aim to uplift our communities, protect our cultural identity, and provide meaningful opportunities for current and future generations.
Donations are especially encouraged for initiatives in:
We give priority to requests that benefit the greatest number of shareholders and descendants and enhance our Native way of life.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for charitable giving support, an organization should address a specific community need. Any donation request over $1,500 must be payable to an IRS-certified nonprofit organization. A completed IRS W9-9 form with a federal identification or social security number is required.
Charitable donations are generally made to nonprofit organizations classified by 501(c)(3) as charitable organizations, 501(c)(4) as social welfare organizations, and 501(c)(6) as business leagues status from the Internal Revenue Service. SNC does not provide funding to individuals, with the exception of clearly defined and separate assistance programs governed by other policies (e.g., burial assistance—please contact our Shareholder Department at (907) 387-1209).
Requests and applications for Sitnasuak support will be evaluated per the following criteria to help prioritize the limited resources available:

Review Process
Donation requests are based on Sitnasuak’s annual budget, current objectives and the community need for the project. Depending on the amount requested, applications may be evaluated and approved by the Sitnasuak CEO/ President, Finance Committee, or the Board of Directors. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.
In some cases, an organization may not be able to accept a cash donation but may accept an in-kind donation. The request, application and approval process are the same for both cash and in-kind donation requests. This includes artwork that Sitnasuak donates for non-profit organization fundraiser auctions, and donations of any other goods and services
Rooted in Our Values
Our giving reflects the spirit of our ancestors and the values passed down through generations. At SNC, we strive to live and give according to the Iñupiaq values, including:
These values guide not only our daily work but also our decisions about the organizations we support.
