SNC is excited to announce the release of our latest marketing material, the Sitnasuaq Cultural Guide.
This brochure was developed in collaboration with our Elders Committee and highlights significant historical sites in the Nome area. Sitnasuaq, which is the Indigenous name for Nome, is steeped in history. To honor this heritage, we invite you to explore our new brochure, which includes scannable QR codes that provide users with a glimpse into the past. For example, you can stand on Front Street and view historic photographs of the same area, creating a connection to history.
The brochure outlines places of interest that you can visit, as well as sites that no longer exist but remain important to our story.
Copies of the brochure are available at our Nome office, and a digital version can be accessed on our website >> here
As always, we kindly ask that you respect the land while visiting.
A heartfelt quyana to our Elders Committee for their guidance on this significant project.
