Elder of the Year 2026

The Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) Elder of the Year Award proudly recognizes Shareholders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to preserving and promoting our culture and heritage through their lifetime contributions. This prestigious award is presented annually to one male and one female Elder Shareholder who exemplifies the values and spirit of our people. Sitnasuak is currently accepting nominations for the 2026 Elder of the Year awards for both male and female.

NOMINATION GUIDELINES:
• Nominee must be an SNC Elder Shareholder, aged 65 years or older.
• Nominations can only be submitted by SNC Shareholders and Descendants.
• Shareholders and Descendants may submit nominations for both male and female categories.
• Nominations should demonstrate the nominee’s significant contributions to preserving and showcasing our culture and heritage and/or service to our community.
• Nominations must be submitted using this nomination form and include detailed information supporting the nomination. You may provide letters of support in addition to the application. All information will be used at SNC’s discretion.
• Nominees convicted of a felony regardless of the jurisdiction will not be considered. Nominees convicted of a misdemeanor will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• SNC requests that the winning nominees be present at the respective Annual Meeting. The date and time of the Annual Meeting will be announced in March.
