Special Use Permits
Special use permits are required for:
- Campsites
- Homesites
- Gravel Extraction
- Recreational Tours
- Fisheries
- Mining
- Commercial or Industrial Development
- Motorizes/Recreational Trail Access
- Communication Towers
- Trespass or other types of desired access
In order to receive a permit for land use, a special use permit must be completed. Applications for permits are not complete unless all fees and information are received. Completed applications are submitted to the SNC Land Committee for its final determination. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for further processing.
Fees received with incomplete applications will be held on account, pending completion of the application. Generally, there are two types of fees per application: a non-refundable application fee, and a surface access fee. Should a request for a special use permit be turned down, any refundable fees held on account will be returned to the applicant.
All access to SNC land requires a permit and an application requesting a permit must be submitted. If no application is received for surface access activity, trespass litigation will be initiated.
